How To Create Your Business Plan

one of the most important steps in running a home business successfully.  Like any business you need to set clear concise goals with deadlines and a plan to achieve those goals.  Many people who do not take the time to create a business plan fail because they do not have a clear path for their business.

When creating your business plan for the year I will suggest you break the goals into each of the four quarters of a year.  It does not matter when you start your fiscal year for your business plan.  Most home businesses will use the calendar year.

The reason for breaking your business plan into four quarters is to be able to make adjustments to the pending quarters as you go.  Many unforeseen things happen throughout the year and you will need to be able to make adjustments for events that happen you had not counted on.  I suggest reviewing your business plan at the middle of the 3^rd month of each quarter to make adjustments as necessary.

There are a few basic questions you can answer while creating your business plan that will help you clearly define your business and the goals for the year.  Here are the very basic questions you will need to answer for a clear business plan:

1. Detail the business opportunity that you want to capitalize. (This could be a primary program or a group of affiliate programs or a combination of those two.)

2.      Outline annual sales and profit potential.  (Try to be very realistic here and not try  to achieve too much at one time)
3.      Give a brief summary of an overview of the industry.  (A little history and some current trends)
4.      Projected position for the future.  (Your business’s projected future position)
5.      Potential customers.  (Identify and describe who your potential customers are.  This is an extremely important step in your business plan!  This is where your sales will come from.)
6.      Define who your direct competitors are.  (Include in this analysis the company’s name, sales from previous year, net profit/loss, how many in the company, and what their market share is)
7.      Define your marketing budget for each quarter.  (This should increase as each quarter is reached so your business grows)
8.      Create a detailed marketing plan by month based on the budget.  (This plan should include each marketing strategy, frequency of use based on the marketing budget.  Make sure you define a tracking method for your marketing so you know what the return on your investment is by month.)

This outline is just a very basic business plan but a good start for those who have never created one before.  There are many places online to purchase software that will help in creating a business plan, but I find that just answering the above questions in detail, reviewing them on a quarterly basis, and making adjustments as necessary will help in moving your business forward.

Becoming a leader is not easy but it’s not too difficult either.  The skills that we should possess are the experiences of doing marketing methods  successfully.

Before we teach our downline, we must successfully complete the skill ourselves so we will have a successful experience to share and guide them down right path. This is so important before asking your downline to do something. Without enough successful experience we would not know what to show or tell them and of course, they will not be able to duplicate this for their business.

So in order to be a good leader, you must prepare the “what and how” to teach your downline.  Pointing them in the right direction can lead to a good result but conversely the wrong direction will guide them to a bad result that will make them leave the business.

In addition you have to provide your downline with some tools, like audio CD, motivational books, training videos, etc.  You have to be willing to take the time to help them one on one when needed. This is the type of attention that can motivate your downline to work harder. Asking them regularly about their progress and helping them solve any problems that may come up is also the sign of a good leader. Team meetings are also a great way to motivate your downline.

The last but not least is becoming a model for your downline. They will see what you do and follow. So becoming a good model will be good for your downline too. As a leader you have to do these consistently to keep your downline’s spirit so that it can boost teamwork and sales drastically. If your downline experiences success then you will be happy too because it means that you will get the benefit from their success and from the company. Finally don’t forget to improve yourself  as well as your downline in order to keep moving forward.

Remember as a leader for your downline you need to always do exactly what you say you are going to do.  This promotes integrity in all that you are trying to accomplish.

As the owner of a business, there are many ways in which you can be successful in multi-level marketing. As a leader, you are responsible for keeping your downline motivated in order to produce at high levels of efficiency.

First: keep a tight schedule. To be successful in any type of business, creating a daily

schedule and sticking to it will lead to a successful business that can provide products and services on a given period. A sense of responsibility is also represented if a leader and its subordinates are able to follow a scheduled routine. As a whole, the company will be a systematized body of productive people, starting from the downline up to the corporate and executive levels.

Second: keep your downline motivated. To do this, you must keep constant communication with your team. Your downline is the foundation of your business. They are the reason why you are earning from your products and services. Giving them credit and recognizing their efforts when deadlines are met or exceeded will keep them motivated and inspired to keep doing better at their line of work. Remember that a good leader not only talks, but listens as well. If you are able to understand and provide the needs of your downline, they will be more efficient in their work.

Third: do not depend entirely on your downline. Relying solely on your downline is a mistake that an effective leader should avoid. You yourself should have a basic understanding of how your business process works, so whenever some people from your downline may quit (as time progresses some of them will), and realize that it is not the line of work that they prefer, you can still survive while there is a lack of manpower. You should still be able to continue with your business and strive for your aimed goals and results.

Fourth: love your product, your service. As an effective leader, you are responsible for representing the product or service that your business provides. If you feel great about your product or service, it will definitely be seen and felt by others surrounding you. Primarily, it is not about the money. People who are looking in to your product or service want assurance that it will be beneficial to them. Once you have convinced them, that is where you benefit with your earnings. For example, if you are selling sports products, but are not into any kind of sport, it will be hard to convince potential buyers that your items will be an excellent choice for them. You have to have an understanding and appreciation of whatever product or service you are providing. Otherwise, those around you will be affected by this, resulting to poor performance from the downline up to the leaders.

Keeping these four key leadership skills in mind will help you to build a successful business.
